Sounds like she's feeling okay today, so very thankful for that! She has some serious recovery to do so continued prayers for that are appreciated. She gets to go home tomorrow if she can eat without puking and go to the bathroom on her own. A couple people are going to visit her today so I am praying that will help cheer her. <3

Just wanted to pop in and update, last night Kim slept for 7 hours which is by far the most sleep she's gotten. To put it in perspective, the other night she slept for two hours two separate times over night and that was doing pretty well. So, seven hours is amaaaazing. Her healing is going really well otherwise, and her pain is manageable enough that she's able to take ibuprofen to space out her percocet, which is helping her feel a lot better mentally.

Right now she is waiting to hear from an oncologist about setting up an appointment. Her surgeon suggested that it's possible oncology would want to put her on a pill form of chemo for a while, but they don't really know until they have that appointment.

Kim has an appointment with oncology today. Basically, since her surgery, every conversation with a doctor or nurse has basically made it sound more and more like the oncologist is going to want her to do chemo, despite being led to believe at some point pre-surgery that chemo wasn't likely to be necessary as long as her lymph nodes were clear. Her main prayer request has been no chemo, followed by a request that the estrogen inhibitor the oncologist puts her on will not be the kind that puts her body into early menopause. She has continued to recover well from surgery, and has felt more and more normal, which has been a blessing.

Oncology appointment didn't reveal as much as we'd thought. They're sending a sample of the tumor to a lab somewhere, and in the next couple weeks they'll get results back that will determine whether she definitely needs chemo, gets to decide whether to do chemo or not, or definitely doesn't need chemo. She does get to be on the estrogen inhibitor she wanted, provided that she tests negative for the "breast cancer gene." If she tests positive, she'll have to have her ovaries removed.
