My brand new synth setup

Tonight, I got a mixer and for the first time ever connected my Novation Mininova, my two Korg analog synths, and my tablet for a jam session. It was ridiculously amateurish, but SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun. Here's the setup:

The Mininova is the blue one. The Korg Volca Beats is an analog drum synth (left-hand VHS-sized box), the Volca Keys is an analog poly synth (right-hand VHS-sized box), and the mixer is a Behringer Q802USB. I've got the Mininova and tablet in the stereo inputs and the two analog synths are mono inputs.

The Volcas are clock-synced using a little 1/8" patch cord and the Volca Beats, Mininova, and tablet all have accurate tempo clocks, so I can easily keep everything sounding reasonably together. Since the Volca Keys doesn't have an LCD display, I slave it to the Volca Beats (so I can see the tempo displayed!!). I think you can daisy chain up to 16 Volcas if you want.

It took me a while to figure out how to get Audacity to hear the mixer, but it ended up being a simple fix - the mic/input level within Audacity needed to be pushed all the way up.

If I have time tomorrow, I might try recording some vocals with the Mininova's vocoder to see how it sounds. The mix is really good, but the analog synths are pretty noisy and you can't do much about that. The Volca Keys delay is super noisy, but it sounds so good. The filter on it produces some mean growls, and it makes the Mininova and Caustic's modeled filters sound tame and boring by comparison.
