Photos will not stay in portrait orientation when uploaded

Lately when I upload a photo, regardless of whether I use my phone or a computer, if it's in portrait orientation it switches to landscape once it's uploaded. This is very annoying. Anybody else noticed this?

What are you using to rotate it? Trying using a different program... Sounds like your current one just puts in the metadata "rotated 90 degrees" instead of actually rearranging the pixels.

Edit: err... Or the camera is doing that. Saving the portrait photo as landscape and attaching metadata to rotate it back.

That seems like a lot of work... plus I don't feel like this has always been happening? And I'm on a Chromebook so no Paint.

Also, I'm having an issue where I can't upload more than one photo per post. Could this be related?
