Google's New Design & Android Stuff

So, recently, Google has changed it's "Google" design to a more "simpler" looking one. Which, is actually quite goofy. I mean, I see nothing wrong with the old one, but I guess that doesn't matter. Anyway, they changed their Google+ design too. They also changed some of their apps too, like a new Google Wallet? Well, that might be something else. So, all though the new change isn't bad in all, it's just "kind of" silly to me. Luckily, it didn't screw up any of their apps or products. Which, I don't think it would.

Anyway, would you prefer the old Google design or the new one? And, do you think Android Lollipop is "better" than KitKat or the same? Or not the same?

The new logo brings a little bit of consistency and looks a lot like their Picasa logo. I think it was a good move.

Yeah, Google is more about "color" anyway. Mostly they are.

I neither hate it nor applaud it--I like it though.

Are you talking about material design? I loved it when it was announced. Used it a lot in a UX engineering class I was teaching at my university. But after I got 5.0, I hate it...

Buttons are suddenly too small for my big fat fingers, a number of things take more gestures to do than before, suddenly card based design is king and all apps look the same (boring)

A big part of the reason they went with the new logo is that it is smaller physically, and less kb. I liked a lot of things about the old one, but the new on is pretty great too.

Communist!!

Nah, but seriously. I understand that some people like the consistency. I just like variety. Specially in regards to apps where material design is just forced in, because it's the thing now. I guess it is a matter of opinion

Consistency is a huge usability win for non-technical users.

Seems like something they would do. It isn't bad though.

It's going to save them a lot of money, plus it makes the logo more usable in small form factors, like watches. Definitely something they would do.

Speaking of Google, it looks like Android 6.0(Marshmallow) is already gonna be featured on Google's Nexus 5X & Nexus 6P. Which, is not surprising at all! Plus, it looks like it won't be long till Android 6.0 is out and on devices already.

So, I wonder if this means that Android 6.0 is like, released? Or are they still in the process of working on it?
