I do, and regardless of political position, I thought Arnold was certainly better than some anticipated. California neither invaded Canada or was invaded by martians. I don't know objectively what I think of him as a governor, but it didn't seem apocalyptic at least.

Trump seems like I would suspect some people to vote for him because he is rich and there is a common enough belief that because he is rich it must mean he knows how to run a business, which must mean he knows how to run a country. I also suspect he is mobilizing angry voters of particular demographics with his antics.

Is that 15% of voting America? I know just enough to know I haven't the foggiest idea. I think regardless of your position on Trump, that kind of logic (or lack thereof), (or vote for the guy because someone liked The Apprentice, which we all know some will do as well) he has the ability to displace some votes.

I don't particularly like Trump's current act. Who knows what the man actually really believes, but I think he is intentionally murking up the waters for some reason. he might be egotistical enough to think he could win, and if he had kept his mouth shut, I think he would have had a legitimate shot, but I suspect he knows what he is doing, and I suspect it is something that has his best interests at heart. I have absolutely no clue what it might be though.

I'm already annoyed. Wish I could just skip to 2017. If 2015 is this annoying, 2016 is going to be intolerable. I'm not voting. If I had more clout, I'd try to organize a boycott of the voting system.

Honestly, I think I may be too naive, but I don't see how Hilary Clinton has any chance. She is a career politician with decades of controversy and scandal surrounding her. She may have her fans but she also rallies the reblican base against her and she doesn't excited people in the middle.

Her numbers don't look great. You'd think that another big name dem has to be thinking there's an opportunity here. Biden maybe, or even... Gore? Ed Kennedy Jr?

I think the only thing that's probably certain is that Clinton and Bush will be finalists in their respective primaries. We won't even know what the field is really going to look like when the Iowa Caucuses happen, apart from a general idea.

FWIW, I think whoever said that Trump is "trolling" Republicans is absolutely right, and for business reasons. The man may be a fiscal conservative, but he doesn't really want to be president. He wants to build his business, and his business gets a big shot in the arm when he runs for president.

My brain just won't allow me to accept the idea of another Bush/Clinton run off. I can't do it. My brain can't allow me to think we're that stupid.

IIRC Clinton's unfavorability rating is second only to Trump's. And with so much time between now and the election, it isn't a foregone conclusion that she will net the nomination.

That said, at this point I have no idea who else it could be aside from her. Sanders is the only one who has given her any competition but I don't think enough mainstream Democrats are going to take him seriously as a possible candidate.

Anyone watch the debates last night?

In the first debate, I think Carly Fiorina stood out as a strong competitor. She was confident, clear, rhetorically powerful, and just outshone the other candidates. However, she doesn't have a lot of political experience and I think that will ultimately hamstring her (both as a tough selling point, and the lack of donor connections).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carly_Fiorina

What did you guys think of the second debate?

Also, can I just say that I am absolutely mortified by the sheer number of Republicans who think we should harvest more data/snooping on citizens, AND think we should beef up our military, AND think we should take military action on foreign soil? Gosh. That's really, really scary. (Graham, Christie, Walker, etc. etc.) ... I felt like Rand Paul was the only rational person on this topic. And he didn't do well bantering with Christie.

Fiorina definitely caught my attention. I would like to see her make it to the big boy stage next time..but yeah, lack of experience will probably do her in.

Paul had a bad night. But I'm OK with that.

I think Fiorina is interesting. I'd like to see Kascich make a strong run (at least based on what I've read). I don't know that either will.

It's amusing to me that we're over a year away from the election and coverage is already insane. I feel like this is the political equivalent to Costco currently having Halloween stuff for sale.

Ok...I'm really tired of Donald Trump now.

And I retract my statement about how it might be amusing if he ran third party.

Go Bernie.

If I vote I am definitely voting for him.

It was an interesting phenomenon, but I think people are over him, or quickly turning that way.

He is too loud-mouthed for his own good.
