Artist Administrator Requests

All requests go in this thread.

To keep up with the never-ending (and rarely updated) tab submissions, I've decided to set up "Artist Admins" for every artist on the site. This job will entail a number of things:

First and foremost, you'll be responsible for adding new tabs for that artist as they're submitted. My job will simply be to send the new tabs to the correct area, and then you'll have to decide if it should be...
A) Posted
B) Edited and posted
C) Deleted

Your other jobs will be just general maintenance on the tabs for your artist. Updating the CCLI numbers, fixing typos as they come along, etc. There won't be a set amount of time that you need to visit your area, but once a day should be pretty normal, maybe as little as once a week if you get busy. If you can't do that, then don't worry about it.

Info on how to approve new songs (once you're an admin) is here.

A list of artists that still need admins can be found here.

Requirements to become an admin? You tell me. On one hand, I don't want just anyone to have that kind of access to part of our song database. On the other hand, we have about a zillion positions to fill. Post your requests in this forum, and list a few reasons why you should be chosen ("I have 2500 posts", "I'm 27 and the worship leader at our church", etc). I won't turn down many at this point. Also, be sure to list which artists (mentioning "guitar" or "bass") you'd like.

I also don't have a set limit on how many artists you can maintain - that is somewhat up to you. We'll slowly get a better idea of how many one person can handle, but for now feel free to take a bunch. I can see one person handling 20 or 30 artists (maybe more) without much difficulty. Your primary job is keeping up with new tab submissions, and we typically don't get more than a handful of new songs per day.

I'll take the Newsboys. I sent a tab for them about a year ago and it still hasn't been posted.

I'll send qualifications over PM.

I have a ton of posts. I listen to lots of music. I play guitar. I now have free time.

Sign me up for however many you want to give me and we'll go from there. I'll let you know if it is overwhelming.

I'll take Steve Taylor (you can include the Perfect Foil if you want) and Peter Furler with my previous request.

We're working on figuring out how to actually make this happen. Turns out no one on the current admin team knows how to manage artist administrators. We're going to get in touch with Pauler.

To be honest, I'm not sure if any of us know how to do this anymore.

I think I do, I just wasn't sure if there is a certain protocol to follow when making someone an AA.

Okay...maybe I don't.

Well get together, figure out how to do it, and make it happen.
