ambient sythn pads

So I saw an ad on Facebook trying to sell these synth pads in all keys for $45. They are 20 minute loops of a sythn playing the same drone note. Being frugal, I patched my Yamaha PSR433 into my Peavey Vypyr2 and recorded a loop and let it play. Same thing for free.

Anyway, I'm curious as to whether any of you use these pads and how you like them.

I can see how they're useful and they'd give me a chance to play lead guitar solos without so much emptiness in the sound as long as my bass player keeps playing.

Love to play for Him

I sometimes use my looper and volume swells on my guitar to create an ambient drone/synth sound. They can fill out the overall sound nicely, particularly if you don't have a keyboardist providing pads.

I bought the major and minor sets from Worship Tutorials, $25 total for all the keys plus a few bonus pads in different octaves. They're great and we use them nearly every weekend underneath a few songs, played back through Ableton Live, which also runs our click track.
Lead, follow and get out of the way.

cd baby
