So, who here remembers Daniel Amos, Steve Taylor, or the 77's?

The title says it.

Who remembers these groups?

My favorite Daniel Amos album was Doppleganger. I still love listening to it.

There are a few of us around here who are big fans of Steve Taylor.

Steve Taylor's new album is probably the best he's ever done. It's so very good.

I have listened to every single one of them this week.

I'm friends with Jerry Chamberlain (DA guitarist) on Facebook.

Horrendous Disc is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Pray Naked is a good one too. I love Mike Roe's voice.

I need to give it a listen.

I never saw Daniel Amos or the 77's (unfortunately) but I did see Steve Taylor way back after he came out with "I Want To Be A Clone." He opened for the Resurrection Band for the first night of Resurrection Band's two-night taping of "Bootleg." I was at the first night. However, most of the stuff on "Bootleg" came from the second night of taping.

I actually appreciate Daniel Amos more now than I did back when they were bigger. I went to the kind of church they satirized in the song "New Car!" on the Doppleganger album. Now, looking back, I would say they are one of the most thoughtful and creative Christian Rock bands of the '80s.

Terry Taylor is rivaled only by Steve Taylor when it comes to biting sarcasm done from a Christian worldview.

Yup. Sometimes, that's good. I appreciate that in a performer. I never sensed that Steve Taylor or Terry Taylor were "angry young men without a cause." Rather, they had something meaningful to say, even if it was a rebuke.

I never heard that one. I like it.

I got a kick out of how he said he hopes they offend at least one person in the room!
