As much as I may want to disagree with some of John Hart's moves, I'm thankful that they're at least proactively trying to stir things up and make something happen next season.

Yeah I didn't see that coming, I thought the Jays would try Lawrie for a couple more seasons at least . . . mixed feelings, Lawrie has the potential to be an all-star, but we did get an all-star for him and we need to make a run, not wait on the development of players right now.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of excited about Nick Markakis coming to ATL

I think it's an alright move. It should help to firm up the current outfield and line-up.

I just don't understand what the plan is going forward. Are we rebuilding? If so why sign Markakis and flirt with Lester? If we're not, why non-tender Medlen and Beachy and trade Heyward? This certainly means that Justin or Gattis is long gone, probably Gattis because his contract is lower. But then you have Justin who has 1 year on his contract and you have nobody in the minors even close to taking his spot so next year you'll have to go out and find another outfielder in free agency. Just so many questions and I don't have faith that Hart has any answers either.

I'm afraid you are right. I don't think the front office has a real plan together as to what they are trying to accomplish.

I don't know what the plan is (if they have one), I'm just happy to see them being proactive and trying to make something happen. It's been a while since I felt like anyone in the organization gives a crap.

It looks like Justin Upton is on his way out, at least SI is talking about it. Apparently the Padres are one of three teams showing interest.

Supposedly the A's are offering Samardzija, which I would take in a heartbeat.

The Giants finally managed to pull their heads out and do something. Of course, all they managed to do was resign Romo and Peavy to contracts that are too big...

The Padres have apparently decided to go all in for 2015...or they just lined up a bunch of chips they can trade away later.
