I don't think I've ever seen a score like that.
Our defense is dominating. Once our offense comes together it's going to be really, really hard to beat us. And it seems to be improving.

The Kentucky vs. Louisville game next Saturday should be interesting. They look to be the last team that has a chance to beat us for quite awhile. After that conference play begins and none of the SEC teams are very worrying.

Kentucky beats Louisville by 8. Nice! In the Calipari era UK is now 7-1 vs. the Cards. And our one loss to them was by 3, at Louisville, with our NIT team.

Now we wait and see how far Kentucky can extend their unbeaten season. We very well could lose a game during conference play. But considering what we've seen (wins over #5 Kansas, #6 Texas, #21 UNC, and #4 Louisville) it's not crazy to say UK could enter the big dance with a pristine record. And from there, of course, we'd need to remain undefeated for the remainder of the season if we want to cut down the nets and claim our 9th championship.

I see no flaws, that other teams also don't have as well. The SEC is quite down as a basketball conference, so I don't see any hiccups there, but you never know. The target you carry going into the NCAA tourney without a loss would be huge, so a loss earlier could have benefits. KU is just too young, inconsistent on the offensive end, and with as many one and dones coming through these days, may never get the chemistry right before March. I think we will be lucky to win the conference this year, and that's all my hopes are for this season.

UNC edges Louisville in a hard fought win.

NCSU beats (I mean...beats) Duke. As much as I love watching them lose...it's painful because NC State fans may be even more obnoxious than Dookies. Of course...if you don't live in (or aren't from) NC you wouldn't know that because no one outside of the state pulls for them.

This could be a very special season indeed. I'm wondering if the only way to live up to expectations now, is to finish the season without ANY losses? Of course everyone wants to win a national championship, but to do so without a loss certainly would be historic.

I think they'll lose one somewhere along the way but still win the big one.

I think that what impresses me the most is the stuff he did off the court. He was a great coach and had he coached another five or six years would probably still be near the top of the all time wins. However, it was his social conscience that I'm more impressed by.

I assume you are speaking of Coach Dean Smith. He was born in Emporia, and graduated from Topeka High, and the stories coming from this area only confirms what you stated. He was instrumental in integrating the basketball team in high school, as a student nonetheless. So many people remember him locally, and the stories are all the same; humble, giving and always concerned for others.

Yeah...I thought I was posting in that thread.

Sorry.

I guess it is relevant though.

Super nerve-wracking game though. We squandered like, an 11-point lead, and only managed to win by 2. The last shot LSU took was a three (at ~6 seconds on the game clock), and if it had happened to go in it would've been UK's first loss of the season. But it was a well defended three and LSU couldn't get the rebound. And Kentucky's unbeaten season marches on.

That was the second game of what appears to be our toughest road stretch of the season. Hopefully we won't be challenged like that for the rest of the regular season. We shall see, however.

Didn't get to watch but that looks like it was a nail-biter.

25-0 and tied for the best start in school history.

UK dominated South Carolina. It was 43-18 at the half and when the final buzzer sounded it was 77-43. Nice. The last time we played them we only won by 15. This time it was by 34. Routed.
