I've heard a lot of people talk positively about the amount of people who voted. Like, most media outlets would have you believe it was a record turnout.

I think it varied depending on the state, and states with higher-profile elections probably had higher voter participation. But nationally, turnout was apparently the lowest it's been since World War II.

Where I voted they told me they had record turn out at their location. They were not prepared for the number of people who showed up.

Yeah, I heard a lot of similar stories around here. I vote in a very sparsely populated portion of my county so mine was empty, but co-workers and friends say they had hard times finding parking and long waits.

In Alberta, Albertans always vote the devil they know back into the provincial government. The current party has been very dominantly in power for 43 straight years. The previous ruling party was in power for 36 straight years... Definitely not a good thing.

I voted at City Hall, and the parking lot was full...the shopping lot next doors parking was full...and hope over a street the parking was pretty full. I parked on the street had to run in the rain to get in. When I left a tow truck was towing cars which were illegally parked.

But Texas was one of the more spicy races. The Daily Show was so interested in our races that they film IN AUSTIN and had the Texas gubernatorial loser on the show. ...and she lost BAD.
