NBA 2014/2015

Julius Randle breaks his leg in his first real game. I'm not a Lakers fan and I wasn't a Kentucky fan...but I hate seeing that. I hope he heals up quick and gets back out there. In the same game...Kobe Bryant looking like a punk when he took a swipe at Dwight Howard. Glad the Lakers lost.

Spurs squeak out a win against Dallas. San Antonio looked like San Antonio. Dallas looked pretty good as well. Danny Green had 13. Yes.

New Orleans beats the Magic soundly. I don't like either of those teams so I don't care as much.

I'm really going to try and follow the season a little better this year. My two main goals: pull for the Spurs, and pull against the Cavs.

I know it was the Lakers and they're not considered to be a good team this year, but I still thought it was a good first game by the Rockets.

The Spurs model should be what all NBA teams strive to emulate. There have been other teams that have been great for 5-8 years but I can't think of one that has been this good consistently spanning two decades. The handover from Robinson to Duncan was seamless, and now you see Duncan and Parker and company handing over to the next generation of Spurs. Awesome.

I would love to see them repeat this year. I do think that Duncan would retire after that. I am also interested to see how the Kawhi Leonard salary negotiation goes. I would imagine that they will eventually pay him to stay. At least...I hope they are.

Fecking horrible. Poor Julius.

I admire Kobe for his insane drive and dedication. And he's obviously one of the best to ever play the game. Otherwise, not a fan. Not a Lakers fan either.

Go Spurs! Always.

I'm a Pelicans fan mainly because I'm an Anthony Davis fan. ESPN actually ranked him as the 3rd best NBA player for the 2014/2015 season! He was the only one of Calipari's vaunted recruits who led Kentucky to a title. And ever since then he's been nothing short of extraordinary. Some have even called him a dark horse for the MVP this year. That's nuts. Though I fully expect him to be earnestly in the running for it within the next 5 years. Incredible player. And a good dude!

I'm a LeBron fan, a Kyrie Irving fan, and a Kevin Love fan. So I can't not root for the Cavs. However, I wouldn't mind if they lost to the Bulls or the Wizards.

How can a Kentucky fan be an Irving fan?

I know the first handful of games means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things but still.... the Heat (Chris Bosh) have to feel pretty good about being 3-0 while the Cavs have started 1-1.

And hey.....the Houston Rockets are 4-0.

They do it by convincing superstars to take way less money than they could get elsewhere. That they are actually able to do it is amazing. Especially for how long they have done it.

That's certainly key. But I would add that they've also convinced superstars to not be superstars. Generally the Spurs 4th, 5th or 6th most prominent players could be the one of the 2-3 best players on quite a few other teams. They just quietly play their rolls and keep winning games.

Since it was a thread about the Kings vs. Lakers that got me on these forums 12 1/2 years ago, I feel compelled to say this.

Holy crap, the Kings look good. And the Lakers suck. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Am I wrong for taking delight at the Cavs 1-3 start?
