Demon Hunter

I was surprised that there wasn't an "official" thread for these guys...well...not on the first two pages anyway.

I have been a casual listener for a couple of years now but I'm really starting to get into them a lot. I know there is a lot of debate amongst younger folks as to what kind of music they play. I'm old and cantankerous and to me...well...it's metal. I'm glad that there are bands playing what I consider metal.

They have pretty gnarly album covers as well. I'm considering one of them for my next tat.

The new album (Extremist) is pretty solid. Anybody else listen to them?

I've only really heard "One Thousand Apologies" and "Fading Away", but I dig those. Maybe one day I'll give them more of a go. :P

I'm too old (and apathetic) to argue whether or not it's real metal. I'm part of a couple of Facebook groups and that's all they ever seem to so...argue over definitions...or argue over whether Christians should listen to Slayer.

I like the blending of synths/strings and heavy guitars. I also like the way they go from fairly heavy riffs to almost poppy sections.

Like I said...it sounds like metal to me...even when he does the growling vocals.

I remember when they debuted with the song Infected. I thought the video was hilarious, especially in how it tried hard to be scary. For some reason, bald, angry men with gruffy vocals make me giggle.

so far what I heard I not heard any clear christian lyrics. I do not doubt that members are Christian. I just can not classify their music as christian metal.

It's just music.

Christians don't have to say "Jesus" in every single song. We can sing about other things as well.
