The playoff definitely needs to be more than 4 teams. 8, at least.

I'm not going to go that far, lol. I'm entering this national championship game much like I did in the 2003-2003 one, hoping they can win, but not with the confidence I had in 2006 when we get absolutely clobbered by Florida. The 2007 championship was weird to me. I still don't get how we we ended up in that game.

Regardless, I am proud of this year's Buckeyes. They overcame so much adversity to make it to the championship. I hope they can win a national championship, but I'm proud of them regardless.

I am nervous. Like, really, really super nervous about tonight's game. I really want Ohio State to win, but I am proud regardless of how tonight ends. Go Buckeyes!

I've never really watched college football but we are watching now. It's really tough to imagine that Oregon is the explosive team that the announcers keep saying they are. How did Oregon not have the lead after 4 turnovers!!!

A few observations:

1) Dropped passes on 3rd downs will kill your momentum. When your entire offense is built on momentum, you're in trouble.

2) The Ducks have absolutely no answer for the opposing running back.

3) I disagree with most of Oregon's coaching decisions up to this point. This includes play calling when near the goal line.

1. yup...those 2 dropped passes on 3rd down early in the game led to 14 points for ohio state

2. yea...no answer for #15...he absolutely dominated them tonight.

3. my wife agrees with you too. if you kick the field goal and take the points, they could have been ahead in the 2nd half.

im surprised they didnt try to run mariota more seeing as how the middle was clogged all night. they could have attacked the edge with him. however, i havent watched them enough this year to know if this is their m.o. or not.

Ends with an interception. I am PROUD to be a Buckeye fan right now. What an incredible season for Ohio State to come back from losing to Virginia Tech to winning the National Championship.

Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott are both beasts!!!!

I still don't know how they had four turnovers and still won!

I heard on talk radio today, that some Vegas casinos are taking a real beating. At one point in the season, Ohio State was 100-1 odds at Caesar's Palace, and I bet many placed a few bets at that rate.

Congrats to Ohio State, and the Big 10 for overcoming so many doubters this season.

I'm not an "I told you so" kinda guy, but...

The Buckeyes are going to be so scary next year. I have no doubt that they'll repeat.

Repeats are going to be much harder now. I think the new standard for a 'repeat' will be making the playoffs, and I have no doubt that they'll bel in the top 6 teams, so more than likely, yes, they'll be back there. After that, it's a crapshoot.

I don't know what magic Urban Meyer has, but it's serious. For them to not only recover from back to back fumbles but to slug Oregon in the face right after, that just doesn't happen unless you are a damn good motivator. Whatever he's doing, he's doing it right.

I think Ohio State will be great next year, but I'm not going to say they will repeat. I will take this one though. This one was special, because of the loss and adversity Ohio State faced. They lost a teammate to suicide, two quarterbacks, both Heisman candidates at one point, and arguably their best defensive player in September. This one was special, because it felt from the Minnesota game on that it was a team of destiny. I didn't admit that out loud, because I didn't want to put the cart before the horse. But last night during the first half and seeing Cardale Jones scoring a rushing TD, I felt like I did on the night of January 3, 2003 when Craig Krenzel did it versus the Hurricanes of Miami. When I finally realized that Ohio State had not only won, but won big, I cried tears of joy, just like I did on 1/3/03. This was a special national championship. I've been a fan since the early 90s, but I became a diehard fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes on the night of 1/1/1997 and since that time I have been proud to call myself a fan, even when they lost most of the games versus Michigan in the 2000s, the four-five years in the early 2000s where they were pretty mediocre and the abysmal 2011 season, I have been proud to call myself a Buckeye. The college football playoff delivered a spectacular bowl season and just adds to the reasons why college football is my favorite sport.
