| I thought that was a strange turn of events.
Especially, since they are going with more of a worship band direction.

| His entire stint with Audio Adrenaline struck me as odd. At this point Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline seem to be the epitome of the Christian music machine. Both bands are just Christian music brands these days. That didn't seem like something which Kevin Max would be interested in. |

| Kevin did the Audio Adrenaline thing because he was good friends with Mark Stuart (the founder/singer) of the band. They worked together raising funds and awareness for the orphanage in Haiti that AA were instrumental in starting.
I don't think it was ever intended to be a full time gig in the first place. I'm more surprised that they are continuing with yet another singer. I thought the "reunion" was only supposed to be for a couple of years to raise more money for the Haiti project.
IMHO...without Mark Stuart and Bob Herdman...it really isn't Audio Adrenaline. It was their band. I guess they own the name and could use it however they wish. I don't think this was about "getting paid" though. Not that they didn't make some money but as I understand it...Stuart and Herdman aren't exactly broke. At one time they owned Flicker Records. T-Bone, Pillar, and Fireflight (to name a few) were all on their roster.

The bassist is the only guy still left in AA.
Even Tyler Burkam is out of the picture.

Even Tyler Burkam is out of the picture. | Very true. I think the biggest issue is that, in my opinion, these two bands had such distinct vocalists that when they were changed, it immediately made them a different band.

You almost cannot help but hear DC Talk when the new stuff plays...especially those tracks with Kevin Max singing backing vocals.
The fact that they survived the departure of not only one...but both original vocalists...I guess that says something.

| I saw Newsboys play in Sacramento with Tait, and it sure didn't feel like a Newsboys show. Not much resemblance left.

I had never listened to them before then but became a fan immediately. The very next album...John James was gone.
The next time I saw them was on the Love Liberty Disco tour in the inflatable concert hall. Totally blown away that night as well.
I saw them two more times before Peter left...once was when Paul Colman was in the band. They weren't as good then.
Still haven't seen them with Tait.
