CFE 2.0 - The Bearded One

I BRING YOU GOOD NEWS AND TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY!!!!

The festivities shall now commence.

Some basics:

It's like a Flat Stanley, but more awesome. It's like a traveling gnome, but cheaper to ship. It is... a creep(e)y freaking eggroll.

Here's the rules:

Once you receive the eggroll, you have a week with him. Sure, he enjoys spending time with you, but he has places to go.

While he's visiting you, your job is to show him around your city, do something fun with him around, take pictures and post them for us. The next person on the list will PM you their address while you have the eggroll, and once your week is up, you pack him up and mail him to the next CGRer.

If you're interested in receiving the eggroll, post here with your approximate location so we can figure out the most logical pattern to send him around the country (or possibly the world?).

Please don't sign up if you can't afford to ship him to the next person.

2014 Update

We REALLY want this to be fun. Those of us who were fortunate to interact with the original know how exciting this can be. We do want as many people as possible to be involved. However...if you KNOW that you cannot follow the guidelines above...please don't sign up. We've lost one eggroll (hopefully not forever) and we want The Bearded One to see as many people and places as possible.

We will be picking up from the original list. If you participated in the original exercise and would like to get in on this action...so ahead...sign up. In an attempt at fairness...we will begin with those who were next in line when our original rolled-up buddy went AWOL.

Any questions?

He is currently in NE Pennsylvania and will be heading out as soon as we get the order worked out. Don't forget to sign up and when he arrives...don't forget to take LOTS of photos.

thanks

A PM was just sent to everyone listed here. This is the message they received...so we're all on the same page.

You are receiving this because you were on the original list to receive Creepy Freaking Eggroll.

As you know...he vanished. Well...we now have CFE 2.0 and he is ready to roll. If you are still interested in having him visit...please stop by the new thread and reply. Those who have not responded within the next five days will be removed from the list to make this run more smoothly.

Thanks,

Mr. RM

I still want a turn with the Eggroll. I imagine this will take place when magspat brings him to Midwest Fest in August, as discussed in the old thread, so feel free to plan accordingly.

Thank you, Mrs. M, for taking the time to make a new eggroll!

Definitely.

Once I have given everyone the five days to respond...we'll have the logistics figured out.

He/she will have been many places and photographed many times by my family at that point.

Please, everybody, if you sign up for the eggroll, commit to sending it on to the next person on the list within two weeks. (This means that KT should either get it now and send it on to someone else before MidwestFest, which is still two months away, or should move down the list. Several people who are waiting for it will be there anyway.)

Also, it's worth mentioning that the next CGRer may be located internationally. How do we want to handle that (RE: Mailing)? I'm still glad to do it, but I know we've had some hang-ups there in the past.

He isn't very heavy.

I really think that we STRESS that one condition for receiving him is the willingness (and ability) to be able to ship him. We can work around special circumstance (of course) but we do want to stick to the list as close as possible.

I also think we ALL need to go over to MtlMom's journal and lavish her with praises.

When I look at him I can just hear him saying, "I keel you."
