Just a note to the reader: I do not plan, at this point, to delve further into CGR mythology other than the two notable characters now introduced into the story. So don't worry if you weren't here in the wayback days.

Installment 6

Weeks had passed since CGR disappeared from the grid. The members had gone about their lives at first, annoyed by the downed server but otherwise uninconvenienced.

But the longer CGR was down, the more aware they became that something was missing from their lives.

Eventually, the members had sought each other out through other means, utilizing social media and — for some of the geezers — the undergound bootleg concert tape circuit. It wasn't long before a CGR gathering had been arranged to discuss what could be done to bring their beloved website back to them.

The gathering was at MtlMom's house. In one corner, the teenagers stood, awkwardly realizing just how much older many of the members of the site were than them. In another corner, Sean and bowstaff were having a heated but respectful discussion about the new Ant-Man versus Aquaman crossover mashup John Woo had been hired to direct. In another corner, half a dozen members were sitting in a circle, writing in and passing around a notebook with "RM's Journal" written on the cover. Another corner held donuts glased with maple syrup SomeCallMeTim? and gospelbluesman had brought from Tim Horton's. In the last corner stood a tall, thin man with extremely pale skin, snow white hair and bright green eyes; he didn't say much.

"Cool house," TheProdigalModern said to MtlMom. "Not many people have pentagonal living rooms."

Giga Hertz had been on the way to the gathering, but had been arrested for writing on a restroom wall at a gas station down the street. While the police dragged the erstwhile CPF moderator to the police cruiser, some witnesses heard the desperate scream, "But bathroom graffiti doesn't count toward your permanent record!"

After a couple hours of catching up, the members decided to call the meeting to order.

"Alright," Pauler said, "Let's rap..."

"Dis Mint is da best rapper," the thin man interjected.

"That's, um, not really what I meant," Pauler said, taking a moment to explain what happened on the morning CGR disappeared. "We need to figure out how to find CGR and how to get it back."

"Dis Mint needs to find it now," the thin man interjected again.

"Yes," Pauler said. "We all do, but..."

"Wait a minute," Tony said, turning to RM, "Is that guy?..."

"TELL DIS MINT WHERE TO FIND DA CGR!" the pale stranger yelled, the sudden anger stripling across his face, his bright green eyes glowing stronger than ever. "WHO DA' ADMINS?"

"I am an admin," Pauler said.

"I am an admin," RM said.

"I am an admin," DC Scott, Gustin and BillSPrestonEsq all chimed in together.

"I am an admin," the final administrator stepped forward, proudly wearing a Sacramento Kings jersey. "Also, I am Articus!"

"Den you gonna feel 'da wrath of da' Mint," the man cried. "Itz gonna get rabid in here!"

"Get down, everybody," RM cried, "It's Rabid Mint!"

Jumping into the air, Rabid Mint delivered a triple helicopter kick to BillSPreston's face, becoming the only documented person to land a blow on Bill since 1996. Arresting his momentum from the kick, the Mint extended his arms and double punched RM before grabbing his shoulders and using them as a pommel horse to swing backwards and take out Gustin and DC Scott with his feet.

The other users backed against the wall — bobthecockroach tried to climb it — while Art took a defensive stance, squaring off against the wintery-fresh albino aggressor. Extending an arm, he gestured with two fingers.

"Come on," he whispered.

The Mint rushed forward, throwing everything he had at Art. The sole standing admin was able to keep all of the rabid attacker's blows from landing, but wasn't able to land any himself.

The other users watched in awe. Singin4jesus ducked under a table and pulled her ipad under with her. Open on the screen was a Skype connection with to_be_released, who couldn't attend for logistical reasons — namely, the Pacific Ocean.

"You've got to get us some help," she whispered. "A crazy person is attacking the administrators. We don't know what to do."

"Don't worry," to_be_released said. "I'm in the future, and I know what will happen."

"Huh?" Singin4jesus was confused.

"I'm in New Zealand," to_be_released responded. "Time zones. Where I am, it's tomorrow."

"I don't think that's how time zones work..." Sing said.

"Doesn't matter if that's what you think, that's how it is," the somewhat agitated Kiwi responded. "Look, I'll prove it to you — the Mint will try to double suplex Art, but Art will tuck and roll and try to sit on the Mint, but he'll break free and do a jump-kick off a wall before they start trying to slug it out again."

Sing peeked her head out from under the table, and to her amazement, everything unfolded just as predicted.

"I believe you," she said, ducking back under the table. "What do we do now?"

"OK," to_be_released said, leaning toward the webcam, "What you need to do to defeat the Mint is..."

All I can say is my entrance into the story better top all of these so far. Otherwise, I'm giving negative UC's on every post.
