CPE training

Have any of you folks who have worked in pastoral positions/gone to seminary been through CPE Levels I and II training before?

I was trying to do a little research on it this afternoon, but all of the descriptions I found of it seemed so ahem clinical that I couldnít really gather what it was like on the ground.

I got accepted into a CPE but backed out at the last second because of the insane schedule. We had a brand new baby, so overnights weren't going to work. But I thought it would have been incredible. I love hospital pastoral care.

The local hospital here uses lay chaplains and have a one day training course they use.

I'm planning to take it the next time they offer it.
