Smith is gone at Carolina. Peppers is gone at Chicago.

Crappy NFL day.

I am so excited about the Broncos' signings. Addressing exactly what they needed to address. The prospect of Ware and Miller coming at opposing QBs from opposite ends makes me drool a little bit.

Denver is certainly looking to be "all-in" on this season. Even as the 2nd best team in the NFL, they were obviously light years behind the Seahawks.

Revis to New England? And they are paying him? Patriots usually don't dole out big money for FA. Only a 1-year deal though.

I like the Falcon's additions. Not big names by any stretch of the imagination, but a lot better than what we had.

Pats couldn't let the Broncos rip them off 2 years in a row. They failed at finding a replacement for Welker, and if they didn't replace Talib, their defense would be in big trouble.

I'm glad the Dolphins got Albert from the Chiefs. Now they just need some guards to shore up the rest of the line. Re-signing Starks and acquiring Earl Mitchell on the D-line were good moves, too. Mitchell won't be an improvement over Soliai, but at least they didn't go backwards (he's cheaper as well).

I'd really love to see us get another playmaking receiver, but unfortunately I think our entire draft will have to be spent on O-line and defensive backs.

I thought Miami resigning Brent Grimes was big as well. He was like the #3 rated corner on PFF this past year. I know he's 31, but coming off an achilles injury, he looked fabulous. I was kinda hoping he was going to hit FA so the vikes could make a run at him. Lord knows we need help in our secondary.

Go get him Vikes! We need a DT, he's got at least 3 more good years left in him.

Vince Wilfork has asked Patriots for his release - NFL.com

I sure hope the Pats have a plan behind all this shakeup . . .

they always seem to do, whether they trade vrable, not resign welker, or let deion branch walk, etc. If there is one thing that the past 10 years have shown me is that the Patriots usually know what they are doing.

I don't think you're going to find a lot of people who agree that the Broncos were 2nd best in the NFL. Best in the AFC, sure.

Really? Who's better in the NCF than the Broncos are now? 49ers? Maybe. Carolina? Not anymore. I don't believe either are better than the Broncos are, especially after injuries and free-agency so far. Kaepernick gives too many games away.

We can only judge based on the results of the 2013 season, and based on that, a lot of people think the 49ers were the second best team in the NFL.

For sure, but I would venture to say that The Broncos would have beat the 49ers.

Absolutely. He was by far the best and most consistent player last year, on offense or defense.

Also--

HOLY CRAP WE GOT CORTLAND FINNEGAN!

I love this guy. Yeah, he's an obnoxious PITA, but I've been known to watch Titans and Rams games just to see this guy pick fights with superstar wideouts.
Of course, I loved Richie Incognito for the same reasons, and we all know how that turned out...
