What do you mean by "cheap". And don't say "As cheap as possible..." either! :kshock: What is a *realistic* price of what you could and would be willing to spend?

If you're looking for a good starter set up go to the closest Guitar Center, Musicians Friend or Mars Music store they should have decent starter sets from Gibson or Fender. These kits usually come with the bass, amp, strings, chords, and other essentials and/or extras, each company's kit is different. One of these set ups will cost around $300. If you don't have a major guitar store around you, go to Ebay or Musiciansfriend.com.

Getting a kit like this is good for a "first bass" to learn on, but if you get it start saving for a real bass that will actually last put out a better sound with out "hum" from the pick ups.

Welcome to the bass world, all four-stringers of the world welcome you!

One of the cheapest you will find new is right here. Just click on the basses tab on the left and then click on the Kramer tab under brands.

I bought a Danelectro Rumor Bass for $ 189.00. It has a great sound with built in effect and is easy to play!
