Hehe, guitarplayer, my youth pastor is deadset against Calvinism, too - he has boycotted Caedmon's Call ever since "they got Calvinistic". I'm not crazy about it either, but it doesn't do any harm, as far as I've seen...
| yeah, i had the feeling caedmon's call was kinda calvinist-like... i still listen to them though!! and i'm just pickin' on the calvinist's, i seriously don't have a problem with it! i've heard good arguments from both sides, i just think the non-calvinist arguments are gooder. soooo, if you guys are calvinist don't be offended by me cause i totally am not serious when i pick on you!!!!! |

Oh no...they've succumbed to the Calvinist/Arminian debate! ARGH! "We've lost another one, Captain..."
Just kidding...
Um, as for what I'm reading, I'm in the middle of this book called Pilgrim At Tinker Creek which is interesting to say the least. It's "different." The author (Annie Dillard) is kind of like a Christian version of Henry David Thoreau.

Granted that his stuff is pretty strong and is filled with lots of things christian books woulnd't have, I just like his plots. There just aren't many books out there in the Christian area that deal with kinda stuff.
He definetely has some great plots!

And to me, he is a good writer, not a clean writer, but a good writer.

| Hello all!! I'm a newbie yet, so forgive me for sticking to the topic...
Right now I'm reading Wild at Heart by John Eldredge(sp?). It's actually written mostly for men but my boyfriend read it and thought it was awesome and said it wouldn't kill me to read it too. SO glad he thought so!!! It's an awesome book even for girls!! Everyone should read this, esp. guys but girls too if they want to know more about what the men in their lives are going through.
That's it though, I can't read more than one at once, I get too lost and too sucked in, I'd get confused if there were more. Yay for summer and a job that gives me time to read!
