What did your first family car look like when you were a kid?

For some of us that was a while ago, but i remember we had one of these. bench seats and no seat belts in the bat.

This is not the actual car...but it was one nearly identical.

They also had one of these at the same time.

We had a white Toyota Hi-ace. We needed a van given I'm the youngest of 4.

Back then on summer family trips, once you passed the Mason Dixon line coming from the North, Jim Crow segregation was in effect so you couldn't be served in the front of Howard Johnson's nor use public restrooms. We traveled with shoeboxes full of fried chicken and victuals and had to relive ourselves into the roadsides.

My parents had two of these when I was born. They sold one and bought the Ford wagon when my brother was born four years later.
