Figured it out - I had a T-Harness for the radio so I just soldered the two power wires from the modulator to the propper wires on the harness and plugged the harness in. Was easy, and I like the fact that I didn't have to touch the existing wiring in the car.

FM modulator seems to be working well so far!

What are other common sources of switched power in a car? The setup is overall working fine, but if I'm charging my phone while listening to the radio (with the modulator off) there is added static. I think maybe I'm drawing too much power having the radio and iphone on the same circut, so if there's something else I can use I'd like to try that.
