How often do you parallel park?

After getting in the car with another one of my friends who seem to be abysmal () at a skill I've taken for granted after living in the big city for the past few years, I'm wondering how often it is that most people need to parallel park in their lives.

I've had to parallel park up to several times a week (I had a lot spot rented out in Seattle, but I'd usually have to parallel park when going anywhere). In my new neighborhood in Chicago, all the spots are pretty much parallel spots.

So how often do you parallel park?

Not much...but I can still do it.

i did more parallel parking back on vacation this year than I have in the other 25+ years that I have been driving combined.

The last time I parallel parked was when you were in town. I don't remember how long it had been since the time before that, but it probably involved street parking at my in-law's condo complex.

I had to select never simply because I parallel park as little as possible. Like maybe once or twice in the past year or two. I avoid it like the plague mainly because it takes me five minutes to maneuver myself in the parking spot.

I can parallel park so I don't avoid it at all costs, I just can't remember the last time I had to do it. I didn't do it for my driving test either.

I never have and doubt I can. Small towns and urban sprawl = lots of large parking lots. I'll have to learn before I move to the Bay Area next month, though.

Since I got my license I've probably parallel parked fewer than a dozen times in 7 years. That said, I can do it.

I think one of the trickier situations in which I had to do it I was driving a 1-ton flat bed truck through down town Houston and I parallel parked it between two cars that were barely inside their spaces. That was (not) fun.

Probably a few times a month. It would usually be in front of my house but occasionally elsewhere.

Wow! That is a lot. Is this because you live in a big crowded city, or is parallel parking the norm in Australia in most cities?
