Pleasant Surprise-do not hesitate to buy.

I've been looking for a powered stage monitor that can double as a mIni, self-contained PA for under $250. Awhile back I bought a Harbinger APS-12 and got a great deal on it. It has a few inputs and a multi-band eq and was ok. Only problems, it doesn't sound great, and it is a lot to lug around--not as heavy as other 12" powered cabs, but still a bit much.

Anyway, I just bought a Kustom PA50 and gigged a small gig with it (used for vocals with 2 singers). Brought it home and ran my acoustic/electric through it. Wow. The sound that comes from the two 4.5" drivers is impressive. Not earth-shaking bass, but a real presence. Also, supplied Phantom power to 2 mics at once!

Everyone wants to compare it to the Fishman solo 220 or the Bose L1.
1) It costs 1/10 as much
2) I could care less that it has no reverb

It is sweet, versatile, compact, looks great on a speaker stand, and sounds terrifiic for 50 watts. Yes it has a slight hiss, but so does the Fishman.

Do not hesitate to buy one or two--they are linkable for more inputs too!

I know this is an old link but I felt it was worth following up. I just bought a mate to the Kustom PA50 and these things sound phenomenal teamed as a pair of mains with a little reverb through my Yamaha mixer. I used my MSR400 as a stage monitor. Just played a gig in a church turned playhouse and got rave reviews about the sound. I played an acoustic electric through the pa, and had my electric micd off my Peavey vypr amp and running through them. Vocals guitars all sounded crisp clean and terrific with plenty of headroom. The bass response is way better than one would expect.
