Step 1: Set down gear and walk away.
Step 2: Pace while pondering life's mysteries.
Step 3: Brew coffee
Step 4: Sit for a while and read Facebook statuses.
Step 5: Blog out your frustration of musician's block while drinking coffee
Step 6: Drive to the store or gas station just because
Step 7: Go to Taco Bell while you're at it
Step 8: Go home and eat
Step 9: Pick up your guitar
Step 10: Write awesome solo with a now-cleared mind.

For "In Christ Alone" I think there are some solo lessons on Youtube. You may not want to copy someone else though.

Doing a solo for worship should be much different than say an outreach event or Friday night youth event.
A more minimal approach is good for worship where you look more for that sweet tone.
