| A small guitar for a small girl :) I'm thinking about getting a guitar for my birthday and I was really considering the Baby Taylor because I'm a small girl and I have small hands. I have trouble wrapping my hands around regular fret boards and I think it would be a little easier on me to get a smaller guitar. Does anyone know of an acoustic with a smaller fret board besides the baby taylors?

| Straight to the point....I like that. :klol:
I would also say to definitely get a Baby Taylor. They are very easy to do barre chords on.
Jennifer :kduh:
P.S. Aaron...it's jmeinel from the TGF. I thought I'd start posting around here also. It's great to see that you are such a Taylor nut on here.

| Are you all really suggesting BABY Taylors or meaning to say BIG Baby... Because the Baby Taylors seem like toys to me since they are waaaay small. A Big Baby is just a bit smaller than a regular guitar and is what I'd recommend...besides, it's the same price as the Baby and it's a whole lot more material for the same price.

| My advice:
Eat your vegetables until you're big enough to handle a Les Paul. |

Although I think if I start out on the Taylor first then after I pick up guitar a little better I'll be able to get a bigger guitar....or I'll just jack one of my brothers since they have 3 and one is VERY nice 12 string martin *hehe*!
O btw, are you all talking about a Big baby or just a baby? I started out talking about a baby because I heard the big baby taylors aren't that much smaller than a regular guitar. |

| I'd head to a store without deciding, play a Baby and then play a Big Baby and then play "the real thing" even (like a 312 or something...just a full concert-size - not dreadnought or jumbo - guitar). Then see what you like....
Big Baby Taylors may not be much smaller than a regular guitar, but they are smaller and easier to handle fret-wise. And besides, you're really not much smaller than the average person :ksmile:
That's not a joke. I read somewhere that the average American female has about a 4-inch height advantage over the average female (surveying the world's population).
I've witnessed a guy who is slightly smaller than you (is that hard to imagine for you?) absolutely master a full-size dreadnought guitar, even though the guitar was about his size (literally, he was not a whole lot taller than it...). His name was Tim Reynolds, and he probably still plays a lot alongside Dave Matthews and the Dave Matthews Band, if you've ever heard of him/them....

| The Baby would be nice if you really want a small guitar. The big baby would be better if you think you can take a guitar that isn't much smaller then full-size. The 312 or 412 would also be nice small but full size guitars. Like nate said, "Go play and figure out what you want."
Jenn- Hi there! Every once-in-a-while I see people from TGF. We can always use more Taylor fanatics around here. Glad to see you on-board.

Nate | Ha, I had noticed Timmy was a little guy, but I didn't know he was that small (no offense to you little guys ). I wonder if I was 9 inches shorter if I could play like him....
BTW, Delaina I agree with Nate, go try the different sized guitars for yourself and find one that 'fits' you. Size-wise and ability-wise go with what feels the best. |

I want one of those. Nice 12 string with pickup. oh man will that ever sound good. One 12 string I want to try but haven't seen is theGibson hummingbird 12 string. It's all of 2k, but I still this it'd be neat to try it. |
