One of my pet peaves is when I'm looking for a specific item like a Marshall amp and I keep clicking on adds for things in no way related to Marshall amps because because the title of the add is vague or flat out miss leading and there's a long line somewhere in their add that says "marshall, epi, epiphone, gibson, peavey, jackson, fender, etc. etc. etc." so no matter what you search those adds will be included in the results.

Just scrolling through the local Craigslist music instruments page, I found a green glass hookah for sale.

Well, you can see how for some, that is definitely a tool for making music.

I'm sure it pairs well with the Guitar Hero controllers and sound-activated "EQ" t-shirt I just found.

I'm going to pile on with two more uber-lousy tactics.

1. Selling a nice guitar you bought new 3-6 months ago at $25 under retail. If you paid retail or MAP for something like a Martin or a Taylor you messed up. Additionally, being an original owner is worth something. At the bare minimum you get a warranty, which should be at least the cost of a neck reset on a Martin.

2. Posting something everyday for months without lowering the asking price. There's a Martin Custom 0 that's been posted on the Chicago CL for 6 months without lowering the (outrageous) price.

Someone in my area has been trying to sell a Baby Taylor for $475 used. If you are at all familiar with this model, they can be found for $319 new from an authorized dealer, and are routinely bought for under $200 used. Again, this individual is looking to sell this guitar for MORE than it costs NEW!!![IMG][/IMG]

Schaumburg? More like SCAMburg!

I hate when I see listings for things like guitars and they show a stock image rather than photos. Actually, I hate that for most things unless it's a brand new product from a reputable seller.

I fell for the stock image thing once looking for a tube screamer, Showed up at the guys place and the one he was selling looked like it had been hit by a truck, missing 2 knobs, most of the paint and the footswitch worked 1 outta every 5 times, I walked out with my money, asked the guy to update his add with a more recent photo

What a jerk.

Please tell me it was very cheap because of condition.

I think he wanted $100 if I remember right, I offered $20 because it was essentially a tube screamer shaped paperweight, he said no and I left
