Cajon

I'm thinking of buying a cajon. Right now I'm leading worship at a house church which averages between 20-30 people/week. Usually it is just me on the acoustic guitar, and I think that simple percussion might be a nice addition. Plus I think the kids in the group could have some fun trying out a basic rhythm instrument. Any suggestions of buying a cajon? I've seen some sites that suggest that a cheap (~$100) one might be just as good as something more expensive. Is this true? Others have suggested that a home made one might do the job fine. Thoughts?

I've played a few home made ones that sounds as good as the store bought ones in the sub-$150 range.

I've seen some awesome homemade ones. Djembes are also cool options for under 100 bucks.

Thanks for the replies. Making one could be a cool project so I'm considering it. If I were to go try out some new ones is there anything in particular I should be looking (or listening) for? I really don't know much about drums and how they are supposed to sound.
