| Games in the Bible Do you know of any games in the Bible?
I know there are riddles and races, but that's all I know.

| Care to specify what you mean by "games" since you seem to mean something a bit broader than you mentioned?
There is mention of boxing, and at least a background of Olympic style games can be important when understanding social implications of the broad honor system present in the NT.

| My undergraduate Intro to the Bible teacher (who was probably 90 years old in 1997) referred to the procreative competition of Rachel and Leah (and Bilhah and Zilpah) as "Bible Baseball." I remember the lecture mainly because it was such a poorly-conceived comparison. Apparently each time a child was conceived, that wife proceeded to the next base. And just like in real baseball, sometimes scoring a home run kills you and then your husband changes your home run's name. |
