Games in the Bible

Do you know of any games in the Bible?

I know there are riddles and races, but that's all I know.

Care to specify what you mean by "games" since you seem to mean something a bit broader than you mentioned?

There is mention of boxing, and at least a background of Olympic style games can be important when understanding social implications of the broad honor system present in the NT.

Baseball.

The Bible starts out, "In the big inning..."

My undergraduate Intro to the Bible teacher (who was probably 90 years old in 1997) referred to the procreative competition of Rachel and Leah (and Bilhah and Zilpah) as "Bible Baseball." I remember the lecture mainly because it was such a poorly-conceived comparison. Apparently each time a child was conceived, that wife proceeded to the next base. And just like in real baseball, sometimes scoring a home run kills you and then your husband changes your home run's name.

Competition for the sake of fun, a test of skills based on particular agreed-upon rules.

Also card playing. In Luke5, Jesus said "Go fish."
