Adjusting the bridge doesn't seem to help...

I have a Fender Strat, and I've been having some trouble with the tuning. All the strings, especially the high E string, are out of tune high on the neck. I've tried adjusting the bridge, but it didn't help. I know I need to change the strings, because it's been a while since I've done that, but I wanted to get some more information before I do that.

Does the gauge of the strings make any difference here? Or would just putting any new strings in help? Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated! =)

When strings are old and corroded, they do not intonate properly, especially the high E since its the thinnest. Yes, put new strings on and then intonate the guitar by adjusting the saddles. If you change gauges, you will need to re-intonate.
