Recommendations?

Does anyone have like a must read book for the non reader? I don't think I've read a book from cover to cover in 8 years. Now I'm going to go to Mexico for a week of relaxation and I think I want to read a book of some sort while while lying on the beach.

Basically nothing to serious, and very past paced.

My must read book list is:

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (way too serious for beach reads)
The Piano Tuner by Daniel Mason (not fast paced)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (serious setting, but easy reading and well paced; a winner!)

What type of books do you like? Or, rather, what genres do you like? Do you like science fiction, fantasy, mystery, historical fiction, etc?

That's just it. I don't like types of books. I don't read anything so I don't really have a favorite type of genre. Although now that I think of it, I do like thrillers in movies. Perhaps books?

I'll read about the book thief bob. Thanks for your input.

Ok, that helps. I meant genre in regards to entertainment, not just books. If you like, say, apocalyptic stuff there are some good books I could point you to; if you like mystery other books would pique your interest, etc.

I can't really think of any books that I could classify as "thriller" so I guess I can't help you. If I think of anything I will put it up, though.
