How to get Flat Frequency Response

No, I'm not telling you how, I'm asking how.
I have a pair of Samson Auro D12s. They have bass and treble controls and I was wondering if there was a way to adjust them to get a flat frequency response.
Any suggestion is much appreciated!

I imagine one way would be to feed them pink noise and check the result with a calibrated mic/spectrum analyser setup. The desk at my church has a pink noise generator. Maybe there's a spectrum analyser app for mobile devices these days.

However I think I'd just feed a variety of cd-quality music into them with the amplifier tone controls centred, and keep adjusting the speaker till it sounded as natural as possible. Something recorded simply, like classical piano or 50s jazz.

The short answer is that the center position on both the controls should already be as flat as those speakers will get without some sort of external equalizer between them and your source.
