Talking Introduction

This is Xero5925. I'm a new member to the website, so is there anyone who can basically show me around the site? Praise God for what we have!

Basically this:

Find interesting forums. Participate in them.

I generally participate in General Discussion, Worship Leading, Theology, Guitar, Effects, Dating & Relationships, Food & Cooking, Secular Music, and a few others. If any of those sound like fun, come check em out!

Oh and welcome to the board.

Also, if you just want to have access to ANYTHING that people are posting in, near the top of your screen is a menu bar: UserCP, FAQ, Members List, Calendar, Arcade, New Posts, etc. Click that "New Posts" button and you'll find whatever people have posted in most recently. That way you can learn about all sorts of people and sub-fora that you otherwise wouldn't have found.

Also very useful is the User CP, your User Control Panel ("CP"); go there to see messages and user comments, as well as to check up on threads or forums that you're subscribed to. What's "subscribed"? It's basically a way of bookmarking stuff within CGR (Christian Guitar Resources, this community). In the top-right of various fora and threads you'll see a "thread tools" or "forum tools" button. It will open a little menu that includes "subscribe to this thread/forum." If you subscribe, you basically get updated when the forum or thread has a new post. If you're really gung-ho about it, you can tell it to send you an email whenever there's a post in that thread/forum. But usually I do no email notification, and just check it out through my User CP. The Control Panel will have immediate access to all threads and fora that have new posts since your last login.

Enjoy!

Yeah, what they said. I usually hang around the intros and welcome the new users. Welcome!
