Epi Les paul with Bigsby

Hi All, I know i'm a bit of an on off member but i like the guitar advice given here.

I'm looking at this i've been watching it for a fair while on Ebay sort of dreamily cos i liked the one guitar i've played with a bigsby and i've always liked les pauls.
I don't really know what this particular guitar is like though, whether it's worth it (It is Australia so it's gonna cost a bit more than in the US) . Has anyone Played or owned one of these? Or something similar?
It was originally $950ish, but it's been reduced to $650 because of a chip which i can live with hence my being very tempted to buy it.

Any opinions are much welcomed and appreciated =)

Thanks

I'd say if you want it and have the $ then get it. If there's somthing you don't like about it then you could mod it, or if it's terrible then resell it. That's just my opinion, I'm sure someone else on here can give more professional advice.

Bigsbys are a love or hate thing, and IMO, you may end up modding the nut a little for better returning to pitch, or upgrading the nut.

Personally, my stetsbar gets me close enough to a bigsby to make me happy. I am not much of a trem user, but just realize, sometimes bigsbys take a little work to dial in and get working well with you. If setup with too much friction in the nut slots, they bind, so even if you get it and it doesn't behave right out of the box, take heart, there are ways to fix it up to stable.

There is a whole world of modding options available to you. Don't let a dearth of particular features deter you. Odds are you can more than make up for them thru some mods . . . in fact, you may actually improve them.

For instance, one mod might be . . .

. . . a stetsbar. Excellent whammy, works on any number of guitars, and can easily fit any set-up you have. In fact, there is an adapter so that it can screw right on to a Les Paul.

Literally, the sky's the limit.
