| I've only got one album--the Awakening album. It's live, but holy crap! The sound crew did an awesome job of capturing both the band and the crowd. So, you feel like you're actually there in the concert with the folks, but you don't hear the teenage girl shrieking "ILOVEYOUJUSTINBEAVER!!!" either.
And honestly, I distaste worship/praise music very much, which technically makes me a Christ Tomlin/Matthew West/Jeremy Camp/Matt Redman hater. Although Jeremy Camp's cd Beyond Measure is pretty good. But hearing the track "The Anthem".....HOLY CRAP!!!! Someone who gets passionate about music, and doesn't just record someone else's song again just for making money and "it sounds good".
I mean, you can tell the Jake's pissed about something (yeah I said pissed. please cast the first stone), and it felt like there was a Keith Green moment in that song. The other one I like is "He is Faithful", which has some cool guitar hooks to it, for a worship setting. Also Kim's vocals are pretty good. She can hit the notes right on, and doesn't do the breathy thing that a lot females like to do in CCM (sing a couple of words, and breathe in to the mike that's way way too close so you hear her breathe, then she shrieks out a couple of words, and gets more dramatic about the song, so she takes even louder breaths about which time I turn the station to something like screamo or classic rock where the music's too loud to hear breathing.) |
