today gavin had to have an MRI and it showed much better results than the CT scan, the C1 & C2 vertibrates are not as out of alignment as originally thought, and there is a network of tendons and muscles where that bone is missing that is holding his neck in place..
the best news is at this moment the doctors don't want to do ANYTHING!!!! they think he'll just compensate for it and everything with the spinal cord is good, he does need more physical therapy and a botox shot in his neck muscle, but not where the straighten his neck, so no collar, no surgeries...
they will keep monitoring him with X-Rays but right now they aren't going to do anything...
i am SO relieved, thank you guys for all your prayers and support, i'm so glad to have a great support network, and gavin is thankful too, he just doesn't know it yet LOL | That's fantastic! I'll continue to pray, however.
