| Hmm... Maybe I was wrong... It was about 3 years ago when I did all that research so things look like they've certainly changed. #27 Toronto Blue Jays - Forbes.com
Of course it does not state where they are as far as a TV market goes.

| I've been to a jays game. It was pretty deserted.
As for my city, I may see the very rare jays cap (maybe 1 in 10 caps total). And Ive never ever seen a jays game on a tv in the pub.

| Whenever I see a Jays game on TV, it looks like the place is deserted.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure we can all agree that the Bosox, Yanks, and Cubs, get a ton of media, and too much media at that, regardless of how they do. It's the same thing in the NBA and for the Giants/Jets, the same in the NFL too. I'm not sure what there is to argue about that.

| Yeah, the Skydome(I refuse to call it the roger centre) isnt that full most games, but really, the issue right now is we need a winning team. back in the day when they were champions, they were crammed full all the time.
And, the anyone not from toronto hates TO comment is a load of crap.
And on TV you can catch most of the jays games, most other teams its a lot harder to find a game on.
Also, the GTA is one of the biggest metro areas on the planet. Its just a matter of having a good enough team people are interested right now. |

| Your right, Toronto is one of the biggest metros. But having a losing team isn't exactly indicative of there are 26 teams with greater money evaluations, with the majority of them coming from much smaller markets and alot of them likely having comparable records.

| Umm...according to the 2006 Canadian census, there's 5.5 million people in the GTA. That's a fairly large market, but doesn't come close to cracking the top 20 globally.
And yeah, it helps to have a winning team, but sometimes the market is just driven by a sense of history. The Cubs have been up and down (mostly down) for years, but Wrigley is constantly sold out. On the flip side, even when San Diego is making a playoff run, Petco Park has trouble filling. |

China may have big big cities, but we don't compare their sports markets with ours.

Regardless, market-size, as I've always seen it used, has referred to a combination of fan base (not potential fan-base, but actual, game attending fan base) and team value. Of course the latter fluctuates depending on the former. This is why the St. Louis Cardinals, with a population base of 2.2 million and a team salary just north of $100 million are generally thought of as a large market team, whereas the Blue Jays, at 5.5/62 aren't. |

| So, Tommy Hanson had a car wreck this morning. He may have a concussion. No other injuries thank goodness.

| Turns out he has a very mild (grade 1) concussion and will likely only miss a day or two of ST.
