I can tell you that it sucks to take money from something either by selling or borrowing from to try to keep afloat. This past year my wife and I had to borrow from the 401k to keep afloat. My wife was put on bed rest with 5 months to go in her pregnancy. We thought that the amount we took out was enough to get by with. It didn't make a dent. Now I have a smaller check because of it and we were back in trouble the very next month. We are slowly getting back on track but it's a horrible feeling thinking that you will be ok and then find out you are still stuck in the same spot. Hope this helps.

There's nothing wrong with having a few nice guitars. When there's a need though, we have to sometimes make sacrifices. I've sold off most of my gun collection, my hot rod, and am down to just two guitars (one acoustic and one electric). It's all good because I'm kind of a minimalist anyway.

Yeah man. I know that all too well.

Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Reminds me of a few years back when my second daughter was on the way.
There was a very nicely restored trophy-winning '72 Plymouth Duster 340 in my garage that no longer fit the 'plan' for our life.
It had to go and got replaced by a small econobox sedan w/ a child seat, but such is life sometimes.
I've also have sold off a few very nice guitars over the years in order to acquire some necessary $$$.
Bottom line is, though, I praise God that I had nice stuff that was worth something to sell.
God made a way and it's good to be reminded that stuff really is just 'stuff'.
