| Using a pseudonym I've been thinking about the next time I sign up for an account somewhere using a completely fabricated name (not like a screen name or name of a character / famous person, but a completely made up "normal" name with no relation to anything).
I really don't want my identify to be completely public, and I also don't want my accounts on the web to be able to be cross-referenced.
What do you think about this idea?

| Isn't that what screen names are for? I'm assuming bobthecockroach isn't your real name. |

| It's easier to come up (read: randomly generate) real names.

| I think, next time you get a Library Card or other such things, you should identify yourself as Bob the Cockroach. When asked to present identification, simply punch them in the face. Easy peasy.
And, as for pseudonyms, I think it's a neat/useful idea, except that some places require identification or other such things. But, for those that don't, why not? The only source of confusion I can easily see is forgetting which pseudonym you used where. |

| I've been trying to get people to call me by my fb name for years. It's DrJamal but my real name is Travis.
