I love messing with telemarketers.

1. Put phone on speaker
2. Wait until they ask you if you want to lose your credit card rate.
3. Say "Well maybe, but I have a few que-Ahhhhhgah"
4. Fall to floor heavily and throw phone gently.
5. ???
6. Profit!

It's funny when they actually sound concerned for your safety.

Oh yeah, I should add that I'm on the do not call list and its on my cell phone and all that jazz. What these people are doing is illegal and they know it. If you bring up the legality or ask to talk to a boss or something they hang up.

It's lame and junk...

I've had some college (apparently) call me at least four times and ask for Julie somebody. I asked the guy last night to remove my number. I explained this to the girl today and she just said "So...this isn't Julie?"

Hm.

I normally just hand the phone to my sister (who can speak three languages.) If the Spanish doesn't throw them off, the French will

This seems like a legitimate reason to learn a little Klingon.

I once had some indian dude spazz out on me claiming I was some guy named Ken and I owed a bunch of money or something.
Seriously, He was all yelling and then he hung up on me.

I was all o.0

-- hahaha! Nice trick you got! I'm gonna try that one of these days. Maybe you're as pissed off with these telemarketers as I am. I pull up pranks at them, too. I get my prank tips from this consumer complaint site called Callercenter. Look for the link which says Top 14 Ways To Annoy Telemarketers. And I tell you, these pranks are so annoying that they stopped calling my one by one.

Mostly I just quietly hang up when I recognizethe caller as a telemarketer.
A few times, as soon as I know it's a telemarketer, I've interrupt him and say:
"This is officer Stadanko from the FBI. We know you have hostages. What are your list of demands?... (I always get a long period of silence after saying that) "Just so you know, we have you surrounded. You have no possibilty of escape.... (more silence) "If you release the hostages and turn yourself over to us right now, we will go easy on you." ( They usually hang up without saying a word)
