Browse THIS old thread...there were some good suggestions.

Glenn Kaiser is a good one to start with.

Not only a good one to start with, but I would say the one to start with...

Depending on the style of blues you want--check him out

Delta/acoustic blues--check out his work with Darrell Mansfield (Trimmed & Burnin & Slow Burn (Available as a double album now)
Blues Rock-Glenn Kaiser Band (Four studio albums & a live one)
Mixture of acoustic & electric-Ripley County Blue (solo--but with basically the same line up as GKB)
Primarily Urban Blues-Spontaneous Combustion (solo)
Other mixtures--he has two compilations--Blues Heaven & Blues Heaven II
Acoustic/mostly solo blues-Cardboard Box

check out this site where you can preview most of his stuff
And GKB

A good one is Mr airplane man playing "Jesus is on the mainline". And Furry Lewis plays plays a very spirited rendition of "When I lay my burden down".

Ditto the Glenn Kaiser suggestion, but don't miss:

Also, I should mention, if you want some old stuff--check out Blind Willie Johnson--some of it he strums, some he plays slide, and the slide is great raw, bluesy stuff

Glen Kiser has a new acoustic blues album out called Cardboard Box about the homeless. It's fantastic. You can get it at:

ChristianBlues.net

They also have a Christian Blues radio station on the Live365 stations. I have an album there that is currently in the number 1 top selling spot called Take the Ride. My band is HoundDog Mike & the Crusade. I have a very "special" special guest on 3 tracks. The lead guitar player for the Kentucky Headhunter, Greg Martin. He's a blues player from the start but his band got it's start in Country because they lived so close to Nasville.

Check the site out and you will find over 100 albums of nothing but Christian Blues. Here is a small sample of the artists besides Glen Kiser:

Rev Jimmie Bratcher
Johnny Manion
Cadillac Johnson-played bass for ZZ Top while they waited for Dusty Hill to move to town
Darrell Mansfield

You can also get Cardboard Box from the Grrr Records site--and right now you can download the song, Urban Hobo for free...

But buy the album...
I plan to if I don't get it for Christmas.
