I'm trying to figure exactly what he's playing in the first chorus. Anybody want to tackle that? I've got what he's playing on the E. When he switches to the A I can't quite figure out what he's doing.

It sounds like one guitar is just hammering out an A chord while the other 'lead' guitar is mimicking the vocal melody, from a B note to an A note.
That's the best I can hear right now due to the compressed audio.

I thought he was doing something like droning the E and the A strings. So on the E I was thinking some thing like:
