This above all. Without the absolute truth of God and his word, the world is a relativistic mess.

Truth grants meaning to all the other wonderful things- Love, Salvation, Mercy... without truth are meaningless.

Brilliant thread John. Thank you.

For me:

-The steadfastness of God. He's the bedrock I can stand on.

-Faithfulness. I love to look back and see his faithfulness to me. I love to hear about his faithfulness to others, to my family, to those who have served Him a long time.

-Knowing that he lives in me, and it's not just me anymore. I am never alone. It is undeniable! If I feel distant from him, If I feel forgotten - no! I have his Holy Spirit in me, and he has called me near, I have no need to feel distant.

-He is transforming me from the inside out. And every time, it really feels like a transformation, I feel changed.

-The simplicity of loving Him and walking with Him. That intimacy.

-Redemption. The sacrifice and the love that welcomes me. The mercy and love that he pours out as a result. It's the best!! His kindness.

Its humbling power. Its ability bring together all of those who are divided by so many barriers.

The beauty of Creation. The power of beholding all that God made, especially other human beings.

The power of redemption to change that which seems unchangeable.

Love which unifies everything and imparts meaning to everything we do.

The truth of God's word. The fact that it can cut through any amount of defenses or disguises that we may try to put up. Its power to not only strip all false hopes that we may have conceived, but to give us real hope.

His love. It's pure and it's beautiful.

Truth and stability. In this crazy world that seems to be out of control...God is stable and sure and in control. He is my calm.

The freedom to be me in God. The freedom to grow and become the person God sees I can be.

Freedom from bondage. Freedom to love others. Freedom from my own self.

Knowing God and having an intimate relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.

Supernatural peace and joy. Even my downs can be ups.

Knowing that God can make any ugly situation the most beautiful ever.

Knowing that I have millions of brothers and sisters all over the world and millions more who have gone on to be with the Lord.

God's creation...He's the Greatest Artist.

The fact that Jesus Christ changes lives and attitudes. Changes a person can see in behavior and body language and facial expressions.

So many things!

Hope. He is my hope. Life is confusing, and insane. The past is broken, the future is dark and unsure. But I hope. I let go of that hope, and my world spins out of control. There is no other hope under the Sun, because we can never be good enough, we can never be friend enough, never work hard enough, never BE enough. Jesus is the only thing that makes sense, the only chance, the only hope, the only breath left in a world without oxygen.

God is real. He is actually real.

with that amazing truth, life makes sense, i can do and endure things that i wouldn't do if i didn't have a reality about God.

Honestly? The fact that it gives me a way out of hell.

I realize we have grace...but I guess I heard enough sermons as a kid to keep the fiery, brimstone-laden pits in my thoughts forever.

Right now, the fact that God is sovereign.

It gives me hope that there is more than what is apparent, and that there are a lot of things to learn.

It sets my mind at ease that there are many things out of my control, so I don't need to worry about them as if I were the end all of the universe.

His sovereignty is also tied with His justice and holiness, which instills a good sort of fear, but also a sense of urgency and satisfaction in regards to injustices in the world.

And amazement that in His sovereignty He has shown compassion and grace that is unmeritted. Mine isn't to question why, merely to accept it.
