| As far as studio versions go, I think I prefer the Cash version, but the best version I've heard is the live version at the top of the list when you search hurt NIN on youtube. I really like the discord in the verses and the feel in the NIN version, but I'm not a huge fan of the production of their studio version. Also, I do agree with rock_show_host about the ending. |

| Pretty darn close.... hard to call.
I think I'm going with Nine Inch Nails, but not by a lot. I like the sparse, austere arrangement of the original more than the full instrumentation of Cash's version - I think it fits the song better. I also agree with Rock Show Host about the "crown of sh*t" line. The rewrite just doesn't have the same impact. |

| I think I like them both equally. The NIN version makes the whole of Downward Spiral worth sitting through. But I pretty much wept the first time I saw the video for the Cash version. Great song. |

| While I am a little bit of a NIN fan, I love the heart that Cash brings into this song. Definitely Cash over NIN here, although Trevor wrote a great song.

| I just listened to the Nine Inch Nails one, and this is what came across my mind, "Man, this sounds like crap."
Not my taste I guess! |

| Both are so incredibly good, but the NIN original definitely feels more hopeless, thus fitting the mood/theme.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |
