| The most I have spent on a single item was $650 for the LLX6A (new). The most I would spend, I used to think was $3500 for a Taylor 914ce, but after playing the 814, unless the 914 is heads above, I think I would rather go with $3200 for a Yamaha LLX36sc.

| Most expensive guitar is my Epiphone: Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom (Camo finish with Maple fretboard) including case at $850
Most expensive amp would be my 1978 Marshall: JMP/Marshall: JCM-800 cab and Peavey: Windsor/Peavey: Valve King cab at $600 each
As for what is the most I would spend, well it depends on if we're talking unlimited budget or realistic purchase.
My unlimited budget purchase would be an actual 1959 Gibson: Les Paul Standard which are in the 6 figure range.
My realistic budget purchase would be either a Gibson: LP Standard Plus or LP 1959 (depending on what you want to call realistic)
I would also add I wouldn't mind getting one of the Marshall: Zakk Wylde JCM-800 2203 but I haven't seen one of these for sale in a while so I'm not sure what they're going for now. I do have to admit I don't look for them on a regular basis because I can't afford one. |

| The most I've ever spent on a guitar was $700 on an older Godin A6. It's probably the worst deal I've ever done on a guitar and the experience taught me to be a much wiser shopper.
Since then I've gotten amazing deals on great guitars...a pair of brand-new/clearance Gibson Les Paul BFGs for less than $1000...a brand-new/clearance Godin Freeway 5 bass for $380 and a brand-new/clearance Godin Solidac for $250.
I'm willing to spend more $$ on stuff. I'd spend over $2k on a guitar or an amp if necessary. I could easily buy a new Les Paul Axcess Standard or a Bad Cat Hot Cat 30 amp and drop over $5k for the pair without batting an eye.
The problem...err, reality is that I can't because of a wife, kids, mortgage, cars, health care, bills and other expensive habits (mountain biking and road biking being just a couple) and the fact that I don't really need any more gear right now or in the foreseeable future.
Plus, that $5k on new gear means that I've got $5k less to spend on acquiring my 1967 (or '68/'69) Plymouth Barracuda convertible next year or the year after... |

| The most I've ever spent was on my Ibanez acoustic. I payed $325 for it. My M13 is a close second at $315. My spending cap would be whatever I needed to get the sound that I want. The most expensive piece of gear that I am considering buying is a Fender HRDlx.

| I spent 1000 on my Seagull. The most I might spend on any single piece of equipment would be...I dunno, maybe 10k if my wife would let me.

| Well, my pedal board is like $4k+, but I guess that doesn't count. I think my Carvin Cobalt and my Highway One strat are tied for the lead, I spent $560 on each of them

| I guess I'm kind of a gear head.
Being that I like to use clean tube amps and get all my effects and dirt from pedals, it kind of figures though.
I've got My LP Custom for $2,700. My pedalboard is homebuilt from scrap wood, so that was free, but has about $1K of pedals on it, with another $500 worth of pedals not on my board at this time.
My Fender amps ran me $950 for the twin reverb, $400 for the HRDx, and $599 for the Blues Junior NOS.
I use all three depending on the venue size.
I wish a simple cheap rig would work for me, but alas, not so far... |

| The most I've ever spent...$1600 for a Gibson 335.
My most valuble piece...1967 Gibson SG that I paid $100 for.
Most of my gear is pretty valuble stuff.
