Ok - finally got things sorted out.

Had to rearrange a bit, which then gave me the option of using some different/shorter cheap cables at a local shop.

Though I actually had to take a knife and slice off some of the extra rubber around the plug to get it to fit between the DD-7s. Luckily, it was just extra rubber where I was slicing.

Anyway, here's the finished product:
