I like Perry because he's a Texan, and therefore superior to the other candidates. He also shot a coyote, and his accent is good, too. He looks exactly like Mitt Romney from a distance, but he has an actual human name. Plus, he can fly freaking airplanes, and did I mention he shot a coyote?
The man has actual SWAGGER, he grew up in a small town, he can't debate worth a crap, and he's a Texan.
I have no interest in the actual politics. I refuse to vote on principle. But as a man, I like Perry. I'd like to go to an air show with him and talk about the weather. He's awesome in every way except possibly in politics and being governor. I wouldn't know about that.
BUT!
Larry Flynt has done this before, in practically every election. He's always offering money if someone can find dirt on some Republican politician. As far as I'm concerned, it's just proof that he's scared that Perry is simply MAN enough to win on pure swagger if he goes up against Obama.
For the record, until he got in office, I thought Obama was awesome (as a dude). Loves basketball, gets his picture taken eating an ice cream cone, has an awesome voice, can glare like Medusa, and liked the word "hope." As president, he quickly showed me that it was all an act.
But PERRY. I mean, look at what you get when you google "Rick Perry Captain Morgan":
Seriously. He's more Captain Morgan than Captain Morgan himself. Like, Captain Morgan is in a bar, drinking himself, and standing in his Captain Morgan pose as ladies swoon, and Rick Perry walks in and does THAT. Morgan is like, "Oh, Rick Perry... Sorry. Didn't know you would be here." Then he leaves, because he knows he can't compete with the Rick Perry pose. It's just... too much. Like a testosterone hurricane. A Gulf of Mexico testosterone hurricane, sweeping across the Caribbean and wiping out all the rum as it sweeps up towards the Texas coast, where it lands in Austin and makes lots of girls get vaccines.
Macho.

| Fo' real, though.
It's like he's saying, "That's right. I shot a coyote."
Or, "I dare you to try to take this ring. TRY IT!"
Or, "The Texas flag has only one star. Think about it."
Or, "Come and take them."
Or, "Join or die, bro."
Or, "Guess what I ate for breakfast today. Three hams and a dozen eggs. AND SOME TEXAS TOAST! Because that's how I roll."

| The two posts above are funny. They're also interesting when you think about it. One of the key things we need and are looking for in our politicians is leadership. Their intellect and how much they understand and where they stand on issues is important, but really they've got a whole slew of advisers as well as congress to deal with those things. How well the can motivate and lead seem to be as important as any of those things and maybe Rick Perry has some of that.
As far as Flint offering the bounty. Can you imagine if Focus on the Family or some prominent Pastor or a guy like Ted Nugent offered a reward to dig up dirt on Obama when he was campaigning? All the mainstream media (with the possible exception of Fox, but I wouldn't bet on that) would be crucifying that individual. |

| The big difference between those entities is that Larry Flynt is not a man whose business and reputation rely on his personal integrity.

You have an individual with a particular political view who's fortunes to an extent are tied to the political climate and he's doing this. So I don't see why it would be OK for Flint to do this but not OK for the 700 club to do something similar. I mean I personally think it's pretty crummy for any one to be doing, but that's just me....I guess plenty of people think it's OK if someone on the far left does it. |

| I'm not saying it's okay. I'm just saying that's why he can get away with it. He doesn't care what people think of him. But part of Focus on the Family's goal is, I'm sure, to let their message be the only thing that can give offense, and not their methods. They have to be "above" any sort of "dirty" tricks. With Larry Flynt, you expect deviousness.

She's currently not running for or holding office so she's free to do what ever she wants. How about an oil executive or a lobbying group? It doesn't matter who it is. I'm willing to bet the response from the media and the public would have been much different if Obama where the one with the bounty on his head 3 years ago. |

So it's barely news worthy if he does something sleazy.
And the only person would put out a sex info bounty would be a sleazy person. So it's very difficult to guess as to what the response would be if it was Obama. |
