Does this seem fishy to you?

This just seemed really odd to me, especially at the price it's at. I've asked the guy some questions (serial #, condition, etc.) and hope to get a reply soon.

Black Fender Strat

Put some money in your pocket and go take a look at it. I'll be surprised if he actually has it, or if he doesn't have some kind of convoluted story about how the deal has to go down. You never know.

Just off the pictures I'd say it's a late 90s/early 00s black MIM Stratocaster. They don't often sell that low, but I've seen them down that far before.

My MIM Strat, in perfect shape, was $79 in a pawn shop. Once in a while God sends you a gift. This may be one. Go check it out, and if you've truly found a bargain, be grateful and enjoy it.

It could just have a MIM neck on it. Still, that would be a pretty good deal.

Yeah, that's pretty darn cheap, but not insanely cheap.

Some people just don't know what their stuff is worth. I've gotten many fantastic deals on gear that people have had no idea about.

Yep...a MIM neck will run around $100-$140 on eBay by itself.

Man; you aint buy that thing yet? I'd go check it out and see what the deal is. Without actually seeing it I can't say for sure, but it looks like a deal to me. I was just on Craigslist and saw a "Fender" Strat for $200.00 but there were some obvious tell-tale signs that it was a fake. Even the seller didn't really seem to know much about the guitar (which was originally purchased on e-Bay).

Did you get it or was it gone? Deals like that pop up in my city quite often, then you have to be the first to jump on it. A vintage memory man for $30 the other day, I called 15 minutes after it was posted, gone, they beat me to it.

Plus, he might be hard-up for the cash. I've gotten deals that way myself.

He could always post it on eBay . . . only to be competing with tons of other guitars just like it, and then have to deal with the hassle of shipping it. Much easier to move it fast for some fast cash locally.

Enter: Craigslist.
