| How do you use your pedals? I thought it would be cool to see how everyone uses their pedals, not just what they use. This is probably most applicable for OD/Distortion pedals, modulation pedals, and pre-amps.
I'll start -
OD/Distortion-
My Rat gives the heavy distortion tone; my OCD has a more bass-y upper-middle of the road breakup; my Bad Monkey has a traditional TS sounding middle of the road breakup; my Open Road is on a Marshall-ish soft breakup sound; and my fuzz just plain sounds delicious.
Other -
My equalizer basically makes my guitar go into the background by scooping the mids on it a bit; my FBM-1 gives me a John Mayer-Fender amp (obviously) sound, with the gain just so that it sounds like it wants to or is about to break up. Actually just got it today, it sounds SWEET.

| different things at different times. My current board has 6 overdrives, 3 boosts, 3 distortions, a micropog, 2 fuzzes, a compressor, a phaser, and one pedal that well, its a discombobulamodulator and a signal splitter to run to two preamps. I have two eventides running in the loop, a pitchfactor and a timefactor.
Most of the overdrives are set kind of light for cascading into each other. Suffice it to say, it isn't simple, but its versatile. I usually don't stack more than 3 overdrives.

| Almost enough: I use mine primarily to confuse people who come to talk to me after church. It deflects the comments about my playing.
In all honesty, I don't have any pedals that don't have their place on my board which is shared by something else.
Yet. |

I will touch on how I use some of my gear (refer to the signal chain in my john hancock if you want)
*The volume, wah, and tuner do what they're supposed to, plus I like the buffer on the TU2. I used to use a cracked wah but the M9 covers that 'filter' sound now(more on that later).
*The T1M Booster adds a little color or something that I've always really liked and lacked.
*Diamond Compressor is always on and plays as my first EQ, which is why it's my favorite compressor; because it doesn't compress much at all, just evens out the volume of notes but keeps that picking dynamic that other comps take away. (It's after the wah b/c sometimes the high end of the sweep is too much in church. When playing out they are usually swapped.)
*The POG fills all sorts of roles. Mostly I use it for pads and spacey delay lines, but I also use it on octave or droning riffs that are repeated (kick it on for the second time through) I've even used it for a 12 string-like sim.
*RC Booster is my first gain stage and is on A LOT. It's set to push the tubes into a slight break up when playing hard; when playing more lightly, you can't even tell its on. It's just gain and a bit of EQ.
*My Fulldrive is (and will probably always be) my main overdrive for church. Excellent tube screamer sound, it really drives my vox nicely. I don't use a ton of drive out of it, but enough to get the point across quite loudly!
*I got a Timmy to try and resell to make money on. It's still there because IT'S AWESOME!! It's hands down the best drive to stack with the Fulldrive, and I have them set at about the same drive level. Sometimes it's even on without the Fulldrive...
*The Hotcake is there to be loud and distorted. Again, the best of many that I've tried, and stacks perfectly with either the Fulldrive or the Timmy (or both).
*I use the Sonic Stomp as an EQ for different guitars, with the settings labeled for quick switching live. It has saved me from many TERRIBLE sound persons!!
*The M9 does almost all of my delays, and all of my modulation. The first bank is 4 different delays with a Tap Tremolo and a filter, and the second bank is the same delays with a Phaser and Chorus.
*I keep the DD-5 on a nice reverse setting most of the time, but sometimes move it to dotted eighth if I want a different delay order.
*Finally, the RV-5 stays on modulated delay and I just turn the effect up or down (or off) depending on the song. It's on almost all the time.

I just prefer the sound of a cranked amp to an overdrive pedal, and don't feel the need for any other effects. |

| Mostly I use my foot, though occasionally I bend down and turn one of the knobs with my hand.

| I use mine as a cardio workout supplement. I shlepp them from place and increase the weight over time.
Actually, my SD twin tube classic gives me a good dynamic dirt that is very amplike by itself, pick attack changes the response more than any other pedal I've ever tried, and has a very Marshall'y lead tone as well.
I use my Carbon Copy Delay to add depth to my tone compared to the echo on my H2o pedal it's quite nice. It's on all of the time. The Modulation button on the pedal is a plus, as I am getting to like chorus alot.
Which leads me to my H2o Liquid Chorus pedal. I use the echo side just as an extra kind of delay that I can switch to if I need a heavier delay. But the chorus is amazing. I use it with a clean tone to comp with other vox / instruments and it has a great chimey tone that is very smooth. Also when using it with my heavy distortion lead tone, gives me that 80's rock sound.
My BBE Sonic Stomp is on all of the time as well. It gives my amps punch and remarkable clarity. Especially when using a dirt pedal the tone can sometimes get kind of mushy. This pedal takes care of that. I use more of the pedal on my warmer Blues Junior NOS, and less on my Twin because it's bright.
My other pedals on my board (EB volume, Crybaby, TCE PolyTune, Barber Tone Press, ISP Decimator) Do what they're supposed to do. |

i currently have 4 overdrives, 1 distortion, 1 boost, 3 delays, a wah, a volume pedal and some other stuff on my board that i'm too lazy to type out ha lol

| I've started using the scenes more on my M13 modeler.
I have a base set (scene 1A) that has my basic mix and match sounds (distortions, mods, delay/echo, and reverbs) then 3 other scenes (so far) with various other "out there" effects that I might only use for one song or one part of a song.
I have 144 effects on that one board, but I'd like to get a volume, wah, and expression for it eventually.
I also will bypass the M13 and use the dirty side of my Fender HRD with the drive or more drive from time to time. |

| OK, I apologise for my facetious answer above. I also note you're not asking WHAT we have, so much as HOW we use it.
Chorus - almost subliminally low depth to add a little harmonic richness
Dano TOD - set to a small boost - step on it for instant lift where I have to go from rhythm to lead/fill in an instant
Marshall Guv'nor (original) for all-out overdrive
I used to have a compressor but only ever used it to get forever-feedback before the big crash at the end of one heavy number
I use a graphic pedal to buffer the passive pickup in my acoustic and depress the 1.5KHz spike which that guitar produces (result = more natural, less 'tense')
I have some others on the board, but the above are the non-obvious answers.
